Who we are

Our Leadership

David Haselwood

Co-Founder and Executive Director

For over 30 years, David has been the name quietly passed from family to family in their darkest hour. When cancer strikes, and fear, confusion, and uncertainty set in, people turn to him—the person who can provide clarity, guidance, and hope. What began as a personal mission to help a few has evolved into CanSup, a nonprofit that now empowers millions through AI-driven support, helping families navigate the overwhelming choices and resources that follow a cancer diagnosis.

David’s entire life has been dedicated to one mission: transforming cancer care. He’s worked on the frontlines of life sciences, tackling nearly every challenge the industry has to offer—building biotech companies, designing clinical trials, leading cancer vaccine development, securing FDA approvals, and even scaling global manufacturing for cancer therapeutics. His career isn’t just defined by expertise, but by impact: David has raised over $100 million in capital for companies at the forefront of cancer innovation and played a role in over $1 billion in healthcare transactions, including the sale of G-Con Manufacturing, which he co-founded, to Summa Equity in 2021.

But his greatest strength is his ability to connect people to the right resources at the right time. Throughout his career, David has cultivated an unmatched global network of clinicians, advisors, investors, and cancer experts—all of whom are dedicated to improving the lives of patients. Families who work with David aren’t just accessing one person—they’re accessing the collective knowledge and resources of the most elite cancer experts in the world. This network, combined with the power of CanSup’s AI, helps families make informed decisions, find cutting-edge treatment options, and receive compassionate support when they need it most.

David’s qualifications are as broad as they are deep. He holds a BS in Natural Science from Johns Hopkins University, an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and an MPH from UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. His research has been widely published in peer-reviewed scientific journals, covering fields such as ophthalmology, surgery, and trauma—testament to his relentless pursuit of medical advancements.

But David’s work is more than just professional—it’s deeply personal. He knows that for families facing a cancer diagnosis, the stakes couldn’t be higher. That’s why he’s dedicated his life to ensuring that no one has to go through it alone. Whether you’re grappling with treatment options, feeling overwhelmed by the complexity of the healthcare system, or simply need someone to help make sense of it all, David and CanSup are here to guide you every step of the way.

When it feels like you’re facing an impossible challenge, David is the expert you want in your corner. His unmatched expertise, deep industry connections, and unwavering commitment to helping families through the most difficult times make him the leading resource in cancer care. Through CanSup, David is scaling his support services from helping hundreds to helping millions—making sure that every family, regardless of their circumstances, can access the support, knowledge, and cutting-edge treatments they deserve.
